Confident Momma

Confidence and candor are not something that is natural for me.

Self-doubt, overthinking my words, and worry come naturally. I bet it comes hard for you too. And I am not talking about your confidence as a mom, I am talking about your confidence as a person, a human, a daughter of the King.

I work at confidence. I cultivate confidence based on true humility, believing all that God says I am. I practice candor, by surrounding myself with honest people not “yes” people. I work at getting my mind right and surrounding myself with life giving relationships. I manage my boundaries often, and I do not allow people to have power over me. Satan would love for me to not be confident, to be small, to shrink, to question my worth. I cannot be held back by lack of confidence or candor and still do all God has called me to. So, my confidence becomes the result of God in me.

My confidence or lack thereof is a direct result of my relationship with my maker. Sometimes things people say about my looks, my character, or my personality hurts me. Yes, I have been hurt but that is not where I decide to stay. I will love me, because by loving me I am acknowledging that God made me, and my daddy used to say, “God don’t make junk!” Be confident momma, be a lot, be bold, be brave, speak up, walk tall!! Do this in appreciation to what God made - He made you and he thinks you are awesome!!

Ways to practice confidence -

Speak it -

Speak to yourself as good as you speak to your kids. Tell yourself how smart, and cute, and good you are!

Schedule it -

Put a date on your planner to do something you like to do. More time with yourself will build your confidence in yourself.

Show it -

Fake it if you must but show confidence. Get in pictures, get in the pool, get on the bike!

Seal it -

Make sure you are in the Bible reading what God says about you. His words should seal the deal! He said it and that is that! Write scripture on cards and memorize it and when the Enemy comes to attack you fight it with scripture.
